Light and stirdy knive. Sharp.
good quality, reccomended
D2 steel is a HRC56-60 tool steel that is fairly durable and semi-stainless. it's a slight step down from S30V but has similar properties. Edge retention is excellent but sharpening is very difficult--this is not a good beginner steel. the handle is a rugged-looking titanium with a fair amount of heft--I would love to have seen a slimmer, lighter handle. the blade can be thumbed out at the eye or flicked open with a tab on the spine, and both actions are smooth and natural. the blade locks with a pin that releases with a positive-feeling titanium button--I really like the action of this knife, it's smooth, firm, and satisfying while still being fast, and everything falls immediately to hand.
unfortunately, the blade shape is a letdown. it's a rounded tanto shape that looks cool but manages to be bad at everything and especially bad with this steel--the factory sharpening job left a very smooth, thin edge that you could shave with but lacks bite for real work. the rounded shape of the blade would be useful for some tasks but they're easier with a longer knife and the kink in the middle of the blade would interfere. the knife comes packaged in the kind of tacticool plastic box they use to sell fishing tackle to gravy seals and this knife unfortunately follows suit. you're getting S30V-performance steel for 2/3 the price, but I would look for a different knife for real work. that said, if you want a great steel at a low price and just need An Pocketknife, you could do much worse.
This comes with a nice case that is a bit bulky, but definitely well made. The blade is sharp, easy to open and close, and rests nicely in your hand. It has just enough weight to be stable for more difficult tasks, but not too much weight that it is excessive. I’m glad I ordered this, and think you will be too.
I really like this knife. It's a very good design, it's a convenient size, it seems well-made, and it's pretty sharp. I'm not a huge fan of the blade shape; I think the tanto point is a bit lazy. It seems like a sharper transition tanto or a regular drop point would be better.
But, the absolute best feature of this knife is the unlocking mechanism. It is a very easy button push, and you don't have to put your fingers in the path of the blade like 90% of locking knives out there. I don't know why we don't see more of that. "Pro tip" - you can also use the unlocking mechanism to deploy the blade with a quick flip. I don't know if it's intend to be used that way, but when you press that button, all the tension leaves the system, and you can flick it right open.
Great little pocket knife. It's sharp and holds sharpness for a while. It's perfect size and slides open and close super smooth. The feel in the hand is nice and doesn't slip. The shape of the blade is really cool as well. It's got some weight to it, so thats good. Can't really complain. I use this as my every day carry for work.
This is a nice little knife to keep on your person. It has a clip to attach to the inside of your front pocket as well as a one-handed operational design. Just like other flip lock designs, it opens with the press of the lever on the top back. Once it locks in place, you don't have to worry about it closing by accident.
The way that this differs from other designs I have tried, is the push button located at the top left that closes it. I am used to having the lock inside the grip, which usually requires the use of your other hand to close safely. This feels like it is just enough up and out of the way where it won't be activated accidentally. It would have been nice to have a slide lock on the button just for good measure though.
That said, I am really liking this blade and can easily recommend it. It feels good in the hand and is also light weight for carry. The blade itself is sharp, and it came in a nice protective case with foam inside. I probably won't be using the case for the knife, but I'll happily use it for other valuables I own.
I was really impressed with the packaging at first, but then I started wondering "what the heck am I going to do with it now that the knife is my EDC?"
I mean, I just pretty much leave it in my pocket or set it on my dresser. But the little plastic box that it came with is pretty cool. It's like a little Pelican case (though not as well made).
The overall weight is actually just right. Not heavy, but also not too light the way some pocket knives can be. The steel seems durable and so far it seems to be retaining an edge pretty well. Though I've yet to sharpen it since I really haven't dulled the blade yet. I'm interested to see how it takes a sharpening.
I also really love that the pocket clip sits high on the end of the handle so that it fits low in the pocket and doesn't really stick out. It opens and closes easily with one hand, but the push-button to close takes a little getting used to if you're used to other mechanisms. The plastic box it comes in makes for a nice presentation for a gift.
This knife is very study and feels like it could take a beating. It folds in and out very smoothly and locks into place well with no play. The button works well and is easy to push. I’m happy with this purchase
I don't have bunch of pocket knives, in fact, I only have one other - Kershaw Tonto Blade pocket knife. That nice has been fine but what I need but I wanted an option for something a bit longer with a traditional blade style. This knife checked a lot of boxes for me and I love the quick open level. The body and build look excellent and the quality feels solid. I'm not the type of person that is constantly whips out a pocket knife but on the few occasions that I've needed it, I've been impressed. It also receives a lot of compliments because it does catch the eye of others.
This knife comes in a Pelican style little case which I doesn't use for the knife but I have used it to secure other smaller items that I'd like available in my vehicle. I definitely recommend it.
I leave this knife in my vehicle in case of emergency. I needed a case for it so it doesn't scratch my glovebox while it's in there. Its extremely sharp and well built.
Excellent knife.Smooth action and feels great in hand.Sharp right out of box.Perfect size for every day carry.Highly recommend
The knife has a nice heavy weight to it and feels very comfortable to hold in the hand. The blade, once snapped into open position, is very secure and doesn't not wobble at all. The way the opening mechanism is designed, it is possible to swing open the blade with one hand.
The knife itself is well made. The blade is fairly thick for its size and should be extremely durable. The body is also 100% metal. What you see in the ad is what you get.
The one I received could not cut paper so I had to spend some time sharpening it before I could really us it. The steel was vary hard and it took more effort that I spend on most knives to get it sharp enough to cut paper.
It comes in a small case, kind of like a mini pelican case. I didn't understand this. I wish they had of spent the extra money on a sheath or something for the knife that could use when carrying it. One picture suggests a sheath goes in the case but mine did not have one. The case would be useful for other things but you wouldn't want to carry the knife in it.
Overall, I though it was a very good quality knife with high quality steel. It just needed extra work to get it to the sharpness I wanted.
Solid knife, study construction, unique design. I like that the pocket clip can easily be moved to the other side or removed.
A friend bought me a fixed blade Wildlance knife a while ago, and I was fairly impressed by the quality, so I kind of started following them and decided to pull the trigger on this little tank.
Out of the box it was razor sharp, and the fit and finish are top notch.
While I'm not a huge fan of the blade geometry, it isn't an unusable design and is fairly easy to sharpen.
I do like the heft and weight of thr knife, too. It lets you know it isn't a toy.
I actually paid for my knife, unlike the other reviews, but I'll say that I don't think they were shilling for Wildlance, and I think you'll be pleased if you make the purchase.
Wildlance, don't be afraid to send me free stuff, I'll be more than happy to leave more reviews ;)
