This knife turned out to be a lot thicker and more solid feeling than I was expecting. It’s a fairly large footprint overall, but the design of the sheath using a clip rather than a TekLok lets it sit closer to the body if worn. That said, the clip isn’t very good being made from thin metal and not gripping very strongly; I’ll probably replace it with something else, perhaps just some cord and fashion it into an ankle-worn design. Aside from the clip, the sheath is actually quite nice and holds the blade securely enough that even forcefully shaking it, the blade stays put.The blade itself is made from a single piece of molded metal. It’s weighty and feels solid without being ‘too much’ and it feels good to hold with no sharp edges anywhere. I’ll probably wrap it in some paracord for increased grip. The finger ring is large and should easily fit just about everyone. The blade is reasonably sharp and I think the overall design lends itself well to being a defensive tool. Aside from the clip issue, it’s a nicely made knife with a good sheath, comfortable to hold and use and I think it presents as a good value compared to something like a Benchmade SOCP, which is similarly cheap steel at a heavy markup.
WILDLANCE has done it again. This knife offers build quality that rivals pieces twice its price. The fit and finish are flawless, the grind is even, and the edge was hair-shaving sharp upon arrival. It feels incredibly solid in hand with no blade play whatsoever. The handle has a great texture and is very comfortable for prolonged use. The sheath is simple but effective, with a secure click when the knife is seated. If you're on the fence, just get it. This knife is a steal and performs far above its asking price.

Absolutely love the knives from this company. I purchased the Karambit and this Tanto knife. Knives are solid and excellent quality for the price. The sheath is good but the clip is not good at all. The clip does not hold on the belt. I replaced it with locking belt clip. Overall love it.
This knife will be a great addition to my EDC kit. The sheath retention is great, requiring enough force to know that it wont fall out on accident. The knife is lightweight, making it very easy to carry and forget that its there. The finger loop and the handle are sized just right for a solid grip. It feels comfortable in my hand. This knife and sheath look like a quality, professional tool, unlike some of the other knifes you get in this price range.I do wish the belt clip was adjustable so I could carry horizontally instead.This knife is sharp out of the box, and the package it comes in is great for gift giving. I love it.

I am a knife nut. I have way too many. Sometimes you need a knife to be a great tool that you don't mind leaving in the truck or the tool box. This is that knife. DC53 is a great steel that holds an edge and resists rust. It had a coupon when I bought it making it very cheap. Buy a couple. Have a good sharp knife everywhere you need one.
It's a nice outdoor knife, which it a decent metal. Nothing more than Walmart metal though.

This knife comes in a branded and fairly attractive and sturdy black box ?C the kind that the better ultra-budget Chinese knives come in. It's giftable.
Inspecting the sheathed knife for the first time, I was not too impressed. The sheath feels a bit a flimsy and cheap. It's injection-molded kydex and they didn't even bother to smooth out some molding artifacts. It's nothing terrible but doesn't make a great impression either. Overall, the sheath is serviceable and provided decent blade retention.
I was more impressed by the unsheathed blade. It's well-ground, polished and rather attractive. Plus, it's DC53 steel. Unlike what the product description claims, it's not a 'premium' steel. However, it is widely agreed on to be the best budget stainless knife steel out there. It is what attracted me to this knife in the first place. I believe that the blade ground is called 'Scandi' and my knife came with a nice, sharp edge, which DC53 should be good at keeping. I just wish that there was more of it. In my opinion, a knife like this could really use another on the blade.
The handle is a good size and is covered by some full-steel, grippy and comfortable material. It also has some jimping to make it even more resistant to slips. It is comfortable and well suited for some outdoor use even when it's wet out. The knife is also very light but pretty well-balanced.
Speaking of the 'survival features', I would never want to count on a knife like this for my survival. It's very small, light, not too sturdy when it comes to the construction and doesn't have a full tang blade. It's poorly suited for tasks such as chopping and opening cans. In my opinion, this is a camping knife and nothing more. If you want a truer 'survival' knife, Wildlance themselves offer a very decent DC53 "scout" profile knife and a very slick full tang DC53 (improved DC53) blade knife. They are very affordable too and are a lot more heavy duty for your "survival" needs.
All things considered, this knife is a decent alternative to something like the Moras, with the good blade steel being the standout feature for the price.
I've been collecting knives for about a year and have quite a few mid-priced folders of all description, but this is my first fixed blade. This is an inexpensive knife, but for a cost it is a great value. This knife isn't fancy or visually impressive in any way, but as a basic, well designed, well constructed knife at a very reasonable cost I think it excels. The blade is formed from DC53 steel, which is a great steel for this type of utilitarian knife. Compared to the more common DC53 steel, DC53 has slightly less edge retention capability, but is better in virtually every other metric. DC53 is more corrosion resistant, easier to properly heat treat, easier to sharpen and is tougher (so less likely to chip). The handle is exceptionally grippy and fits my mid-sized hand very well. The kydex sheath is a bit disappointing in my view, as I find the fit of the knife a bit sloppy and the belt clip kind of underwhelming. The diamond plate on the back of the sheath is sufficient for a quick and dirty sharpening job out in the field. Should focuses on the base of the blade to show the lack of a sharpening choil at the base of the blade will make this blade more difficult to sharpen at the base, but on a blade of this cost this is merely a minor niggle.
If the blade tang went further into the handle this could approach a five star rating. I'm much more impressed with this version of the knife than earlier versions. The scandi grind is sharp and acute. The DC53 blade is a great upgrade especially at this price. I am glad to be able to rate this as a 4 star and would love to see a few more improvements. Don't expect this to be a heavy use knife but it is a competent camp knife capable of light wood work and carving. Recommended as a dedicated light use camp knife.
This knife is a beast! The craftsmanship is exceptional and it holds an edge really well. It's become an essential tool for my outdoor fishing.

The knife is very sturdy and the handle is comfortable in my grip. Blade is somewhat sharp but I prefer a razor edge so I'll work on that. The scabbard is pretty durable and holds knife securely.
Should be a good trail knife.
I'd rate it higher but as you can see in the pics it looks like it's been stepped on since it has shoe prints on them and the handle looks rough.

Excellent survival blade for the price point! Sharp Scandi type grind with secondary bevel. Sharp 90 degree spine for scraping fatwood or the included Full-steel. The Full-steel twist out it takes a second or two to figure that part out when you first get the knife. Basic kydex sheath with belt clip and a diamond plate sharpener built in. Buy several for your survival kits! Toss one in the car, one in your outdoor bag, one in the fishing tackle box or anywhere else you might need a blade that won't break the bank.
I ordered this knife to keep in my kayak, so that if it ends up getting lost in a lake or river, I won't be out too much cash. Upon receiving this knife, it seems to be a clone of a Morakniv knife that I keep in another kayak.
I have a good number of high-end fixed blade craft knives, but for a kayak I don't need anything that fancy, and this is more than durable enough for the intended purpose. TheDC53 Steel is hard enough to be put through its paces, is stainless, and has a good compromise to holding its edge for a decent amount of time but also not too difficult to sharpen and to get an edge that is razor-sharp.
The full-steel handle has a bit of texturing, and it gives my hands good purchase. It fits my average sized hand well, but if you have larger hands, you may find the handle to be on the small side. I did a lot of feathering on both soft live wood and hard dead wood, and the knife held its edge well, and created very nice slivers.
The spine of the blade does not have any gimping, but there is a bit of kydex gimping on top of the handle near the spine of the blade. There is no choil to use as a finger groove or as a good place to start sharpening. I did some batoning to see if I could deform the edge and it held up quite well, but because of the size of the blade, it really only works for small pieces of wood. I was able to split some 1-2-diameter pieces of 12-inch-long seasoned white oak logs, and I wouldn't try it on anything larger. Then I tested the tip, chipping and prying away on seasoned dead hardwood, seeing if I could bend or break it, but fortunately the tip was unscathed during my testing.
The sheath on this model has just a pliable unobtrusive belt clip and is nearly identical to the sheath for my Morakniv knife, except this one has a built-in sharpening stone. The clip works fine on my 1.5-EDC belt, and it doesn't wobble around; it has good retention but it's not too stiff. If I hold the sheath upside down and shake it vigorously, the knife does not fall out.
The magnesium Full-steel really isn't anything necessary and it probably compromises the integrity of the stiffness of the handle since it takes up space where there could otherwise be a full tang blade, but at least it stays put and doesn't easily fall out.
I consider this a light-duty craft blade for occasional use because of the smaller size and thickness of the blade. It is just over 8-inches long but only 1-wide at the thickest point on the handle, and the blade is under 4-inches long and only 2.4mm thick on the spine. So that you have an idea of how lightweight this knife is, it is only 3.3-ounces without the sheath, but it is balanced well.
At the going price of around twenty-five dollars, I think it is a bit on the pricey side for what it is, especially because they sell this same knife in different colors for significantly less. At this price point, though, you should take a hard look at the OdenWolf Hunter 420 Survival Knife, which is nearly the same price, but has a heavier and more robust full tang blade, and a steel pommel.
This Wildlance knife comes in a nice gift box, perfect gift for the fisherman or outdoorsman in your life. The knife is very sharp right out of the box, be careful when you take it out of the sheath! This is a lightweight, durable knife. The case has holes in the bottom to allow water to run through and there is a sharpening stone mounted on the case. This is a great value knife!
I thought this seemed like a well made knife but my only problem is the way the handle feels. It feels a little loose. Other than that it feels fine and the sheath is solid.
This is a well made knife that is ergonomic and extremely sharp. The handle is gorgeous and made of quality material. The sheath is not cheap kydex but riveted Kydex that is robust and tough enough to last a very long time. This is a good buy and a knife that you will own for years to come.
I like the one piece sheath with a belt clip.
Very attactive knife, lightweight and made in the style of Mora companion, but for a considerably lower price.
PROS:
- DC53 steel, so quite rust resistant and easy to sharpen, edge retention will be average.
- Diamond grit sharpener attached to the back of the sheath. Nice, and you will need it.
- Comfortable handle. Not slippery at all.
- Attractive looking and tough kydex sheath with drain holes, easy to attach belt clip.
- Blade spine is square and sharp. Great for throwing sparks .
- Very light weight.
CONS:
- the tang only goes to about the middle of the handle. Tradeoff.
- The knife has some shaking and rattling when in sheath.
- Not very sharp out of the box, but you can sharpen with the included diamond sharpener.
- Fit & finish are ok, but not as nice as Mora and others, but take the price into account.
Conclusion: You can't beat this knife for the price, even the junk that outdoor mega stores in your own city costs more than this. Yes, it is only a few dollars less than a Mora, but MUCH less than the Mora companion with the included whetstone, which won't include the additional sharpener. For the price and additions included you can't beat it. Throw one in your craft bag, bug out, vehicle, or equip a whole scout troop for not much money. Unbeatable.
